Rates and payment options

Subscription rates and payment options for the Society for Education and Training (SET) are listed below. SET’s membership year runs from 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2021.

Concession rates for all grades is £30 by direct debit and £33 by card payment.

Affiliates, Associate and Members

  • Standard Membership: £5.75 per month (£69* total)
  • Concessions: Members earning under £16,500 per annum: £2.50 per month (£30* total)


  • Standard Membership: £7.25 per month (£87* total)
  • Concessions: Members earning under £16,500 per annum: £2.50 a month (£30* total)

Where an employer is able to support the cost of membership, SET anticipates that this will be through the full or part-reimbursement of professional expenses or a professional subscription loan scheme.

Please note: payment by cheque is no longer accepted.


Tax relief on your membership fee 

SET is recognised by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) as a professional body, with membership subscriptions deemed directly relevant to employment. This means that SET members are eligible for tax relief. SET appears on the list of approved professional organisations and learned societies as 'Education and Training Society'.
