Four events to disseminate learning and enable the exchange of knowledge and ideas from Teacher Regional Improvement Projects (TRIPs) and the Industry Insights components of the Education and Training Foundation’s (ETF) T Level Professional Development offer will take place in March.
Established in June and November 2019, a total of fifty collaborative TRIPs have been taking place covering a wide range of topics with the intention of improving the quality of technical teaching and learning in diverse settings. In addition, over 180 staff placements in industry have taken place and, to date, more than 300 staff have attended a workshop led by SME and large-scale employers from all sectors through the Industry Insights offer.
- The national dissemination event will take place in London on Tuesday 17 March. It will share effective practice from TRIPs and industry insight activity through a series of workshops, seminars and panel discussions with guest speakers representing 2020 T Level providers, awarding organisations and employers. These sessions will include opportunities for questions and answers.
As well as the national event, three regional dissemination events are being held:
- The central region’s dissemination event will be held in Nottingham on Wednesday 11 March. It will share insights from the TRIPs and industry insight activity through a series of themed workshops, presentation and discussion on how a range of providers and employers are preparing for T Level delivery.
- The southern dissemination event takes place in Swindon on Thursday 12 March. Attendees can choose from two workshops which will help to build knowledge of how each TRIP or Industry Insight participant has prepared for T Level delivery, the challenges they faced and the outcome and impact of their interventions and findings.
- The series finishes with the northern region dissemination event in Manchester on Wednesday 18 March. It will disseminate findings from some of the 15 regional TRIPs in three workshops covering; employer engagement in T Level planning, co-design and delivery, developing an inclusive T Level curriculum and prioritising professional learning and development to prepare staff for T Level delivery. Attendees will also hear from employers and FE colleagues who participated in industry insight placements and employer-led workshops.
There is no charge to attend these events for ESFA-funded providers.
You can read about the experiences of many of those who have undertaken Industry Insight placements on our case studies page and on our news pages about the positive feedback for the employer-led workshops.
