ETF and Oxford Saïd expand leadership training portfolio for FE leaders

The Education and Training Foundation (ETF) has announced a new addition to its suite of Further Education leadership training programmes being delivered in partnership with Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

The new 'Further Education Preparing for CEO Programme' is open to senior leaders across Further Education and is designed to prepare those aspiring to become a Principal or CEO within the next two years.  

This latest addition to the training portfolio follows the success of ETF’s existing Strategic Leadership Programme which has had over 100 participants and is designed to strengthen and enhance the leadership skills of current Principals and CEOs in the Further Education and Training sector.   

Sir Frank McLoughlin CBE, Associate Director for Leadership at the Education and Training Foundation, said: "A crucial part of the ETF’s role is ensuring the Further Education and Training sector has world class leaders. As well as complementing the range of leadership initiatives that we already offer, this programme helps to future proof the sector and ensure that there is a continual flow of high quality people who can successfully manage and lead our key institutions.

"From my experience, when there are changes at the top without effective succession planning or individuals who can take over the reins seamlessly, there can be an unsettling effect on a college or training provider. Leaders are the key to success for any organisation and this programme will provide the stability, confidence and esteem needed for the sector, while developing the leaders of the future."
