Places can now be booked for the sixth annual Education and Training Foundation (ETF) Practitioner Research Conference and inaugural International Practice-Focused Research in Education Conference (IPFREC).The theme of the events is ‘Shifting Horizons of Educational Practice, Theory and Research’.
The two conferences are organised and delivered by the University of Sunderland Centre for Excellence in Teacher Training (SUNCETT) in partnership with the ETF. They will take place consecutively from Monday 6 to Thursday 9 July at the University of Sunderland’s Sir Tom Cowie Campus, on the banks of the River Wear.
The Practitioner Research Conference’s keynote address will be given by Dr Lynne Rogers of University College, London. It will also feature the regular selection of presentations and sessions led by those who have undertaken, or are undertaking, Masters degrees via the Practitioner Research programme.
IPFREC 2020 is a new event dedicated to encouraging international, disciplinary and interdisciplinary discussion and debate about the relationship between practice, theory and research across the discipline of education and in education-related disciplines including philosophy, sociology, psychology and policy development.
Keynote presentations at the event will be given by Professor Gert Biesta of Edinburgh University, Professor Ewart Keep of University College London, Dr John Johnson of ArtEZ University, Arnhem, and Dr Tony Charles of Middlesbrough’s Platform A Gallery. The Conference Gala Dinner address will be given by Sir David Bell.
