WorldSkills UK is now accepting expressions of interest from employers looking to registrate apprentices to take part in its UK-wide skills competitions ahead of registrations opening on 2 March.
Those who register their interest will receive a notification email when the month-long registration period formally opens.
The competitions feature approximately 3,500 young students and apprentices and 70 skills. They encompass regional heats, and a National Final at the NEC Birmingham each November. Those who excel may have the opportunity to join Squad UK, and potentially Team UK, undergoing world-class technical and mindset training before representing their country on the global stage in Lyon 2023, alongside competitors from over other 60 countries.
Registering for and taking part in WSUK skills competitions is free and, recognising the importance of the competitions in developing talent, the Apprenticeship Levy can be used to support apprentices taking part.
Entering students for WorldSkills UK Competitions demonstrates to Ofsted you are meeting the common inspection standards by using competition activity to deliver high quality training and assessments and demonstrating excellence in behaviours and attitudes.
