Speaking and listening

How to use this resource

Speaking and listening skills are key areas for all learners. They need to be developed and don’t just happen. Younger and more challenging learners in particular need carefully structured opportunities to engage them in the process. This resource belongs to a series of speaking and listening resources and helps teachers and trainers examine the questioning skills they need when working with learners.

Devised by Ros Foggin. Based on a handout from The Basic Skills Agency “Introduction to the Adult Literacy Core Curriculum”, Pre Reading Materials 2001, Department for Education and Employment (DfEE).
