Play an important role and have an influential voice within SET

Would you like to play an important role and have an influential voice within the Society for Education and Training (SET)? Join us as a Fellow today and start making valuable contributions to the Further Education and Training sector.

Being a Fellow of SET holds great weight to employers, colleagues and, of course, those learning from you, signifying that you’re an experienced practitioner in your field.

We encourage all Fellows to help promote professionalism, demonstrate best practice and raise awareness of SET.

Am I eligible for a Fellowship?

If you can say ‘yes’ to any of the below questions then you are eligible:

  • Do you hold a Level 5 teaching qualification, and a masters or doctorate in education or the subject you teach, and have a minimum of 5 years teaching/training experience in FE and Skills? (You need to be able to say yes to all three criterion).
  • Have you successfully completed and been awarded ATS?
  • Do you hold an ETF Technical Teaching Fellowship?

SET Fellows can:

  • Use the designatory letters FSET
  • Participate in surveys and consultations
  • Apply for QTLS status

Joining SET as a Fellow is only £8.00 a month or £96.00 annually when paid by direct debit.

“Being a member of SET means being able to keep up to date with policy and teaching methods and success. It can be often a source of inspiration of ideas for my own teaching.” – Cheryl Hall, FSET ATS, North Hertfordshire College

  • A scanned copy of your qualification certificates relevant to FSET Membership
  • Details of the subject(s) you teach and whether the subject you have a Masters in is the subject you also teach
  • A copy of your current CV - confirming how long you have been teaching/training

Please note SET does not cover any costs relating to ENIC’s.
