Good news - if you are currently studying for an initial teaching qualification you can join SET for FREE*.

So long as you are studying for a Level 3 to 5 qualification or a PGCE from a recognised Initial Teacher Education (ITE) provider, you can apply for FREE membership to the Society for Education and Training.

How much does it cost?

Your SET Student membership is free for the duration of your studies. Once you have completed your studies you can easily upgrade to become a full member.

  • The free student membership offer applies to students undertaking an initial teaching qualification from Level 3 to Level 5 or a PGCE from a recognised ITE provider.
  • The free student membership offer applies to current students only and cannot be used to claim refunds for previous study years.
  • 30 days prior to your qualification completion date, you will be sent a prompt to upgrade to the next relevant member grade.
  • If you do not upgrade, your free SET Student membership will come to an end 30 days after you have completed your qualification.
