Case study: working with one of the professional standards

Our members have told us that one of their key priority areas for CPD was to be able to successfully embed the 2014 Professional Standards.

In this article, member Sandra Rennie tells us how she is working with the professional standard 'Build positive and collaborative relationships with colleagues and learners' and how this is helping her practice.  

The Professional Standards

The Education and Training Foundation launched the Professional Standards for Teachers and Trainers in May 2014. These standards have become an integral part of the landscape of our sector, and across education teaching staff are working with them as part of their professional development, teacher training and in many cases appraisal, observation and career planning. The aspirational nature of the twenty standards means that there are many different ways to work with them, and equally many different ways to demonstrate this professional engagement.
