In this article, Fellow Dan Williams tells us how he is working with the professional standard 'Maintain and update your knowledge of educational research to develop evidence-based practice' and how this is helping his practice.
The Professional Standards
The Education and Training Foundation launched the Professional Standards for Teachers and Trainers in May 2014. These standards have become an integral part of the landscape of our sector, and across education teaching staff are working with them as part of their professional development, teacher training and in many cases appraisal, observation and career planning. The aspirational nature of the twenty standards means that there are many different ways to work with them, and equally many different ways to demonstrate this professional engagement.
