50,000 learners enrol onto ETF's Prevent resources

More than 50,000 learners have enrolled onto the Side by Side Prevent duty awareness modules, delivered by the Education and Training Foundation (ETF).

The free online learner resources, which are funded by the Department for Education (DfE), have been developed to help raise confidence in understanding the dangers of extremism and radicalisation and help in the teaching of British Values.

They cover the dangers of radicalisation and extremism, online safety, deciding what you can trust and explore British values and how they apply in everyday life.

One provider explained why they value the modules: “Our learners are some of the most difficult to engage with – from PRU backgrounds. I have to say they were really well-engaged and really enjoyed the e-learning and seemed to get a lot out of it, the videos stimulated lots of discussions. I was even more surprised to find that, when they went on the e-learning modules, their recall was especially good.”

The materials are designed for learners from Entry 3 to Level 3 across the FE and Training sector. Resources have been structured so that they can be used independently by learners in the workplace or in classroom situations. There is also a facilitator guide with activities to explore the issues raised in more depth.
