The Education and Training Foundation (ETF) is sponsoring the Reimaging FE 2018 Conference, taking place on 27 June at Birmingham City University.
This unique conference brings together FE practitioners, leaders and researchers in working groups to tackle important issues facing the Further Education and Skills sector in the UK.
The theme for this year’s conference is ‘Making Teaching and Learning the First Priority’. Rather than listening to ‘stand and deliver’ presentations, delegates gather in working groups to tackle key issues in different areas of the FE sector.
Several working groups will be forming throughout the day, covering the following areas:
- Equality and Diversity
- Middle Leaders
- Learning and CPD for Educators
- Research and Scholarly activity
- Work-based Learning.
Utilising a Design Thinking approach, delegates from the Apprenticeship Working Group will consider how FE can design and successfully run programmes which not only develop the knowledge, skills and professional competence of apprentices in their chosen community of practice, but also support their personal development as well-rounded confident individuals. The Apprenticeships Working Group will be convened by Anne Haig Smith and Mara Simmons of Activate Learning.
