Applications are now open for the 2020–2021 Practitioner Research Programme (PRP). The PRP, which is delivered by the Education and Training Foundation (ETF) in association with SUNCETT at the University of Sunderland, accepts applications from practitioners across the sector interested in researching their own practice and gaining an MA or MPhil qualification.
Participants are supported to develop their research skills and deepen their understanding of the relationship between educational research, theory and practice. Through their studies, they become part of a growing community of research active practitioners driving improvement across the sector, including in learners’ outcomes.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 18 September 2020. Details and the application form can be found on the Practitioner Research Programme page of the ETF website.
Applications were opened on the first day of the 2020 ETF–SUNCETT Practitioner Research Conference, which took place virtually on 6 and 7 July. The event saw those currently on the programme presenting their research in six themed sessions, tackling: language, technology and literacy, CPD, access, assessment and professional learning, curriculum design and development, and ESOL and community.
The revised details of the inaugural ETF–University of Sunderland International Research Conference were also announced. The event, which was originally intended to take place concurrently with this year’s Practitioner Research Conference, will now happen on 5 to 8 July 2021. The theme will be Practice-Focused Research in Education.
