Rory Cobb is a qualified teacher of children and young people with vision impairment (QTVI) who has recently retired from the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) where he worked for 35 years. During this time Rory developed resources and policy advice for schools and local authorities on educational provision for blind and partially sighted children.
He also has a longstanding involvement in training and led on the development and delivery of online c
courses for education professionals working with children and young people with vision impairment. Rory has a special interest in access to the curriculum and examinations, working closely with awarding bodies and government agencies to improve provision for blind and partially sighted learners in public exams.
Rory is the current chair of VIEW, the professional association for teachers of children with vision impairment, and has been responsible for the annual VIEW conference since 2003. He is also a programme tutor on the University of Birmingham course leading to the mandatory QTVI qualification.
