SET Webinar: Working in prisons

The live event has now taken place. To watch the on-demand version you need to be logged on as a SET member.

This webinar aims to inspire you to look for opportunities to teach in prisons or signpost you to support and resources if you are already working in the sector.

The Education and Training Foundation (ETF) provides support to those teaching in the secure estate through developing resources, sharing effective practice and funding professional development.

During the webinar, we will help you explore the benefits and challenges of teaching in prisons and provide you with links to further information and job opportunities. We will also look at resources that have been developed to support those teaching in prisons, including our Offender Learning Exhibition site and newsletter, along with a range of resources to help develop maths and English skills and managing challenging behaviour.

In addition, we will explore the professional development opportunities available to those working in prisons. Finally, we will hear from some SET members who work in the sector.

Speakers

  • Caryn Loftus: Associate, ETF
  • Nathalie Jameson-Warren, Programme Manager for Functional Skills
  • Annette Johnson, iMedia Tutor, Milton Keynes College.
