Trainee Teacher Advisory Group (TTAG)

The new Trainee Teacher Advisory Group's aim is to advise on key issues impacting the Further Education and Training sector and to provide SET staff with feedback, drawing on the members’ own experience and their knowledge in order to improve and develop the membership offer.

The group’s role is to:

  • Provide Society for Education and Training (SET) staff with feedback, drawing on the members’ own experience and their knowledge of the part of the sector in which they work, on existing and proposed SET benefits and services offered as part of SET membership, in order to improve and develop the membership offer.
  • Advise SET/ETF on key issues impacting on the sector that can be addressed through existing and potential SET services and benefits.
  • Promote the work of SET (in collective and individual capacities as Trainee Teacher Advisory Group members).
  • Feedback from the Trainee Teacher Advisory Group will be shared with the SET Management Board (SMB) so that they can take this into consideration when making decisions, as well as being used by SET/ETF staff in their day-to-day running of SET.

Eligibility criteria

You must be a member of SET to apply to join the Trainee Teacher Advisory Group, and either a current ITE student or a recently graduated practitioner employed within the sector. We welcome applications from across the FE sector as the Advisory Group seeks to have a diverse mixture of practitioners proportionate to the composition of SET.
