Petroc College has become the latest further education provider to be welcomed as a corporate partner of the Society for Education and Training (SET).
The agreement will see up to 300 teaching staff at the college become members of SET, the only professional membership body dedicated to teachers and trainers working in further education. The partnership, which began this month (January 2021), means staff will benefit from a valuable range of professional development opportunities including access to exclusive content, research, webinars, events and discounts.
Announcing the partnership, Petroc’s Director of HR & Organisational Development Sheena Murphy-Collett said:
“Investing in staff today, prepares your workforce for tomorrow. The SET membership will provide a hugely beneficial resource to staff and we are delighted to become a Corporate Partner.”
Martin Reid, Director of SET, added: “We are pleased to welcome Petroc as a corporate partner of the Society for Education and Training. We look forward to providing teaching staff with access to a host of CPD opportunities, expertise and resources, and helping them strive for excellence in their professional journey.”
As SET members, teaching staff at the college will enjoy benefits including:
Gavin Lumsden, Director of Education & Student Experience, talks to us about what to expect from his breakout session at SET24. He also offers advice for educators wanting to maximise their learners’ potential.
More than 27,000 practitioners have been awarded Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) status since it was first introduced in 2008. As QTLS status marks its fifteenth anniversary, applications for the current cohort remain open, closing on 30 November.
